I’m going to try to review new books every couple of weeks. I have found its actually pretty difficult to find REALLY FANTASTIC books that are AP (attachment parenting) friendly, and positive, uplifting, as well as beautiful.
Covered Wagons, Bumpy Trails by Verla Kay
This was a really interesting book about traveling out West in covered wagons. The illustrations are divine! Its a rhyming book. It was a good fun read for my 2.5yr old. Good pictures, easy fun reading, and fast page turning!
The Boy Who Loved Words by Roni Schotter
I wouldnt recommend this book for those under 3.5-4yrs, it gets kind of boring. I enjoyed it immensely. Its about a boy who collects words, and his friends and classmates make fun of him, so he decides to run away. Along the way, he finds out that he CAN help people with his words, and then goes out into the big world and helps all the people with the words he’s collected. There are MANY fun and interesting words used in this story. This would be a great book for older children learning to expand their reading comprehension and vocabulary. Well illustrated.
