Talkers, Watchers, Doers ~ A review

I just finished reading Talkers, Watchers, Doers by Cheri Fuller. It is an excellent book on working with your childs unique learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses. Not only did I learn how to help my children better, but I also learned how I can help MYSELF better.

After reading this book I understand why I prefer emails and letters to phone conversations, have a zillion sticky notes for everything, and love people watching. I am primarily a visual learner. Brecken is most definitely kinesthetic. I’m still trying to figure out Ronan, since he is so young still, but I think he is a visual learner as well. My dear husband is an auditory learner, no doubt.

While this book was written with the intent of helping schooled parents, it does mention homeschooling parents, and I think has alot of useful information, particularly if you are an unschooling parent.

About lisser

My name is Alyssa. I live with my husband and 2 young boys on our farm in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. I have been in the planning to launch a small scale farm from our acreage for the last 2 years. Much to my excitement 2010 brings the start of my dream to fruition. We are starting small, but will continue to grow as a valuable local food source in our community. We are an unschooling, attachment parenting family, with a love for the outdoors, and a passion for sustainable farming. I am a stay (and now work) at home mom. I enjoy reading, sewing, cooking/baking, canning and photography.
